The underlying concept and objective of the design was to develop a quarter adjacent to the Ernst May settlement, which would be viable by virtue of its heterogeneous functional structure (hotel, department store, residential, production units, etc.).
The project was conceived in a way so that the district of Praunheim is provided with a new landmark as an identifiable focal point with a sequence of spaces and squares so designed to facilitate further integration with the neighbouring quarter.
