A marketing-related concept for the restructuring of a listed building was to be developed on the edge of Bremen city centre, at some distance from the town hall square with its statue of Roland.

A central hall represents the heart of the concept as an identification and orientation space with all the functions grouped around to be included in the pedestrianised system.

Apart from the glass-ceilinged entrance hall, two additional components enhance the building's value at this particular location:

a)The lowering of the ground floor zone in Area I, with the entrance facing the market square.
The result is a smooth transition, on the same level, between the pedestrianised precinct and the building at this important corner location.

b)The upgrading and improvement of the entrances at Stintbrücke bridge and in Langenstrasse by creating an internal connection between them.
As a result of this measure and of lowering the ceiling at some points of the ground floor, the public area outside can be drawn into the building.
